Performance testing – Vo2Multisport offers a full spectrum of testing protocols that will be matched to an athletes ability and needs. Director of Coaching Ben Bigglestone, believes what does not get measured does not get achieved. He believes in regular performance testing in all disciplines to ensure the athlete continues to make adaptations and also to help highlight any limiters the athlete may have. Discipline Specific Technical Analysis – Feel like you may not be making progress in a particular discipline due to technical limitations? Get your running gait, swim stroke and/or pedaling technique recorded and reviewed by a Vo2Multisport coach. Using simple techniques Ben and his coaches will video your current technique, provide a critique and then prescribe drills and coaching points in order to help correct any technical and/or mechanical deficiency. Where necessary a referral will be offered to a specialist for further input. Training Camps – Vo2Multisport have been running successful training camps for the past several years. Every February and March Vo2Multisport run a warm weather training camp in Tucson AZ which caters to athletes of all abilities. There are also race specific training camps for Ironman Coeur d’Alene and Ironman Canada which aim to give athletes competing in those races their best chance for success by providing an opportunity to ride and run on the course under simulated race conditions during supported workouts. It provides an excellent opportunity to familiarize oneself with the course in advance of race day and collect important data that may be used to optimize your race experience during these two Ironman events. Bike Fit –In the world of triathlon and time trial bikes, much is made of the finer details of frame design, component selection and fit choices. The truth is, there are rarely any straightforward answers. Most often, it depends on the individual. Votwo Multisport follow the guidelines of Dan Empfield and his FIST principles of bike fit. Fit specialist Cindy Bigglestone (both Serotta and FIST certified) believes in fitting the bike around the limitations of the athletes not vice versa. Her years of racing and training at a high level combined with her bike industry experience have taught her that a theory is only as good as its application. | | | |
